When setting the full-circle plate baffles, is the shell-side cylinder structure calculated in segments? When calculating the equivalent length for pressure-induced instability of heat exchange tubes, should the intermediate partition be treated as a baffle (or support plate)?

Unless the intermediate partition is a true intermediate tube sheet (welded to the shell and with the heat exchange tubes connected to it by strength expansion), the cylindrical structure on the shell side must be calculated in segments for strength assessment.
