For centrifugal compressors, I have worked with three-stage seals: a low-pressure seal for isolating air, a high-pressure seal for isolating air, and a hot-high-pressure seal for isolating air. These gases are all nitrogen at various pressure levels. Low-pressure seal gas is used to prevent the compressor lubricant from seeping into the compressor side. High-pressure sealing gas prevents the high-pressure material inside the compressor from leaking out.

Your system should use a double-end dry gas seal; the main function of the pre-sealing gas is to provide a clean working environment for the dry gas seal. Generally, the pre-sealing gas is taken from the outlet gas of the unit itself, enters the dry gas seal system first, and is then injected into the sealing chamber after being filtered.
