The commissioning of the Rosemount 3051 transmitter mainly includes the verification of the transmitter’s configuration data and the testing of the transmitter itself. It should be noted that due to the high versatility and stability of the 3051 transmitter, it can be calibrated before or after installation. Before leaving the factory, corresponding debugging was also carried out on site. Regardless of the type of calibration method purchased, we recommend using a dedicated manual operator or an AMS device manager to calibrate the transmitter on the workbench, that is, to carry out calibration after installation, in order to ensure that all components of the transmitter are operating properly. When debugging the transmitter on the workbench, corresponding equipment is required, which is generally available. This includes a power supply, a milliammeter, and a handheld operator; if an AMS Device Manager is used, it can also serve as a handheld operator. First, connect all the devices as shown in the image on the right. To ensure successful communication between the transmitters, there must be a resistance of at least 250 ohms between the wiring connections of the handheld operator and its power supply; the handheld operator should be connected to the terminal labeled COMM. During debugging, it is necessary to set the hardware parameters for all transmitters, which helps to prevent the electronic components of these transmitters from being exposed to harsh conditions in the factory environment after installation. It can also save us some unnecessary diagnostic work. If the AMS Device Manager configuration is being used, when the “Apply” button is clicked, the AMS Device Manager will be updated and take effect. If a handheld operator is being used, it can be sent to the transmitter via the ‘Send’ button in the configuration menu. If sending or requesting data causes the transmitter circuit to output data, the hydrogen process application circuit should be set to manual mode; the operator panel or AMS device management system will prompt to set the circuit to manual mode if necessary. Confirm that this prompt will not set the circuit to manual mode. The hint is merely a reminder; setting the circuit to manual mode is a separate action.
