On December 25th, the Tianjin Offshore Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Base operated by CNOOC completed its mechanical construction inspection, marking the transition from the on-site installation and debugging phase to the trial production phase. As China’s first manufacturing base for intelligent equipment throughout the entire lifecycle of offshore oil and gas, this base aims to achieve \"intelligent manufacturing, green and low-carbon operations, and a workplace friendly to employees.\" Construction began in July 2023; it covers an area of approximately 270,000 square meters. It has been designated as one of the **Top 100 Projects in the Emerging Industries sector, a key construction project in Tianjin, and a model project for intelligent construction in Tianjin. At present, the R&D laboratory building in Phase 1, along with five factories—including the intelligent oil casing factory and the electric intelligent manufacturing factory for artificial lifting—have been completed, and the equipment inside these factories is now being tuned up in an orderly manner. Once operational, the base will be primarily used for tasks such as the processing and manufacturing of special-threaded oil and gas casings for offshore platforms, turbine testing and maintenance, integrated operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment, and the production of manually lifted products. To address issues such as barriers in the production process of marine equipment and difficulties in management in the past, this facility has developed an \"integrated platform for predictive prevention and control of equipment and facilities.\" The aim is to utilize modern digital technologies to enable intelligent production and operation throughout the entire life cycle of marine oil and gas equipment, from planning and design to construction and maintenance. In the intelligent oil casing factory, the intelligent vertical warehouse for coordinated management of finished products has been installed; meanwhile, the device for transporting steel pipes through low-altitude coordination, which utilizes efficient lateral transfer machines and flexible truss manipulators, is currently under testing. This workshop has achieved full intelligence in terms of core technologies as well as hardware and software equipment; once it starts operating, the factory’s annual production capacity is expected to reach 60,000 tons of oil casing. At the artificially elevated electrical intelligent manufacturing factory, the aisle trucks, which are the core equipment of intelligent vertical warehouses, have already begun to be tested, while AGV vehicles designed for intelligent delivery are scanning the routes. Leveraging an integrated platform, the factory can automate and digitally manage the entire process from component procurement and storage to the completion of finished products and their storage. It is able to collect in real time information such as the location, quantity, processing status, and material consumption of work-in-progress items, providing data support for cost control. At present, the rooftop photovoltaic systems in the workshops of the base park have been fully installed, with an installed capacity of approximately 5.5 megawatts. The annual average power generation is expected to be around 5.8368 million kWh, which will result in savings of about 2,074.28 tons of standard coal per year, as well as a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by around 5,744.61 tons per year. In addition, the comprehensive management platform for the base’s perimeter areas has entered the deployment and testing phase, with operation expected to begin in February 2025. It will enable features such as reduced staffing needs, intelligent operation and maintenance, and efficient work processes, while enhancing the safety and health of employees, improving work efficiency, fostering a new approach to human-centered care, and cultivating new types of skilled workers.
