[My Story] The First Master at the Chemical Plant

Master Xu, the first person to work in that chemical plant, arrived at a gasification workshop in Yuncheng, Shanxi, in March 2007 as an ordinary worker; the team leader assigned a mentor to each of those ordinary workers. My mentor is a handsome guy in his 20s; he is someone who works hard, is willing to take on responsibilities without complaint, and doesn’t care about gains or losses. He showed me the equipment, took me on site inspections, and helped me get to know the production process. Occasionally we would go out for some fried noodles, and we spent happy and pleasant days together. No gathering lasts forever; the three-month practical training period came to an end quite quickly. I had my final farewell meal with the master, and left Linyi in Yuncheng with tears in my eyes. Although 18 years have passed since then, whenever I think back to those experiences, my mind is filled with countless thoughts, and I miss my master.
