This marked the completion of all onshore construction work for the platform, paving the way for offshore operations. The platform incorporates a number of pioneering technologies, setting new records for the size and weight of offshore oil and gas platforms in the Bohai Sea region. It is reported that the Kenli 10-2 oil field is the largest lithological oil field discovered offshore in China to date, with proven geological reserves of crude oil exceeding 100 million tons. The central processing platform of Phase I of the project is a multi-functional offshore platform with 3 floors and 8 legs, designed for both production and living purposes. It stands 22.8 meters tall, has a footprint equivalent to that of nearly 15 standard basketball courts, and its designed weight exceeds 20,000 tons; it is thus the heaviest and largest offshore oil and gas platform in the Bohai Sea area. The crude oil quality varies significantly across different blocks in the Kenli 10-2 oil field. The central platform is equipped with both thermal and cold extraction systems, comprising over 240 sets of key equipment; it is one of the production platforms with the most complex process flows in the Bohai Sea region. In addition, by incorporating an integrated intelligent assistant for engineering production based on DeepseekR1, the platform enables the integration of intelligent production, energy consumption management, and safety management, striving to create an innovative low-carbon intelligent offshore platform centered around artificial intelligence. The total length of the pipelines used in the central processing platform for the Phase I development project of the Kenli 10-2 oil field complex is 42,000 meters, with the welding length exceeding 40,000 meters ; The total length of the application cables is approximately 760,000 meters, which exceeds the straight-line distance from Beijing to Qingdao ; The workload for this project is twice that of a regular project, with nearly 1,300 people involved in its construction during peak periods. The CNOOC Engineering Qingdao manufacturing base is in the peak of construction, resulting in a shortage of construction slide resources. To overcome the bottleneck in slide resources and accelerate construction progress, the project team abandoned the conventional method of pre-fabricating all components at once and then assembling them on site. Instead, the components were thoroughly pre-fabricated in areas that are not part of the slides, after which they were transported to the slide area using SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transport vehicles) for further assembly. At the same time, project timelines were successfully ensured through integration, standardization, digitalization, and other means. In addition, the project makes full use of the leadership of highly skilled craftsmen to actively foster the development of a skilled workforce in the industry. By establishing a quality and safety management system that covers all employees and all stages of the process, it has managed to achieve a first-pass qualification rate for key welds of 99.69%, resulting in an excellent safety record with zero accidents over 4.73 million working hours. It is reported that in order to accelerate the conversion of reserves into production, the Kenli 10-2 oil field adopts a strategy of implementing development in phases, with two development projects: Phase I and Phase II. As one of the key capacity expansion projects for the Bohai Sea oil field this year, the successful departure of the central platform for the first-phase development project marks a new stage in the development of the Kenli 10-2 oil field. It is of great significance for the Bohai Sea oil field to achieve an oil and gas production volume of 40 million tons by 2025, as it will further enhance the ability to ensure energy supply for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Bohai Sea area.
