A high-temperature pipeline developed a leak; the area was enclosed with a cover and sealed with glue. After some time, a leak appeared at the site where glue was applied at the bottom. The glue application holes were sealed with screws. What could be the possible causes of this leak?
The glue wasn’t filled fully, so the weak spot was punctured and leaked?
1. There are issues with the high-temperature sealant selected for plugging leaks under pressure； 2. During pressure application to seal leaks, the high-temperature adhesive fills the entire space, resulting in continuous erosion by the medium and thus the formation of leakage points ； 3. If it’s not a flange leakage issue, and only box sealing with glue is involved, bolt sealing is not recommended; it’s better to carry out full welding, and then use a welded valve to release pressure.
