As the title indicates, during the construction of steel underground pipes, it is necessary to repair the welds after performing a pressure test. Assuming that there are no damages in the areas of the pipe that are not weld joints, and that the soil layer has covered these areas during the pressure testing process, will the spark testing of the anti-corrosion coating be affected by the soil?
The inspection of the anti-corrosion coating on buried pipelines should be carried out after the soil has been laid on top, otherwise it’s not possible to determine whether the anti-corrosion coating was damaged during the covering process
