When using ordinary shielded wires for thermoresistors, long distances can result in significant numerical errors; generally, a signal generator is used to correct these instrument errors. Thermocouples seem to also have errors, but they are relatively small
Thermal resistors do not require compensation wires, while thermocouple extensions do need them. For thermal resistance errors, three-wire or four-wire cables can be used to eliminate them.
A signal generator can be used with thermal resistors, but it seems that a compensation wire is required for thermocouples
