The manholes of storage tanks need to be rust-removed and anticorrosively treated; the flanges can be given an anticorrosive treatment except for the sealing surfaces, which cannot be rust-removed or anticorrosively treated.
The outer surface of the flange, except for the flange sealing surface, should be subjected to sandblasting for rust removal and anti-corrosion coating. When performing sandblasting for rust removal and painting, the flange sealing surface should be protected with sealing materials such as rubber sheets.
