The magnesium anode installed in the figure below protects the water cooler tube bundle (through which water flows inside the tubes) from water corrosion. It mainly provides comprehensive protection for the water cooler tube bundles that already have anti-corrosion coatings, preventing the tubes from corroding. Generally, after several years of use following anti-corrosion treatment, the protective coating on the tube bundles becomes damaged; as a result, there are large cathodes and small anodes, which makes the tube bundles more prone to damage. Therefore, using this method can extend the service life of the tube bundle. However, it is not recommended to use this method on pipes without an anti-corrosion coating.

In this way, the tube bank is protected first. I believe it should be connected to the tube sheet using wires, and insulation measures should be taken for the connection between the magnesium blocks and the tube bank partition, so as to effectively protect the tube bundle.
