Oil cooler leakage analysis

The company has an oil cooler for one of its units; the tube bundle is made of 304 material. After one year of operation, leakage occurred in the tube bundle. Upon disassembling it and cutting the heat exchange tubes, no uniform corrosion was found on the tube walls, but there was a strong unpleasant odor, similar to that of purple clay. Please discuss what could be the cause. The water quality is fine, with chloride levels well below 20
If the pipes are not corroded, then the leakage is occurring at the tube sheet. Could microorganisms be the cause of the problem? Could you analyze it to see what exactly it is?
