The image below shows a wastewater cooler; the tube side contains water, suspended solids, dissolved solid particles, COD, chlorides, etc. The maximum operating temperature is 60 degrees, and it shows the degree of corrosion of the tube sheet after being in use for over a year. What methods are used to prevent corrosion of the tube bundle in this situation?
Corrosion was not considered at all in the design, manufacturing, and operation!
