Its characteristics: lightweight and high-strength, excellent chemical resistance, easy to transport and install. Thanks to its smooth surface, it offers low resistance to liquids, thereby reducing energy consumption during transportation. The maximum operating pressure for fiberglass pipes is 0.6 MPa, with a temperature range of 60–80°C. Oilfield wastewater contains large amounts of H2S, NH3, HCN, and CO2. It also contains numerous harmful ions such as Cl- and SO42-, as well as a great number of bacteria. Additionally, its temperature is relatively high, generally ranging from 60 to 80°C. Therefore, corrosion of low-carbon steel pipes or equipment is quite severe; this is especially true for sulfur-containing wastewater in oil fields. In 2–3 years, the corrosion depth can reach 3–4 mm, and in many cases, holes are formed due to corrosion. As a result, the number of scrapped pipes and wastewater tanks continues to rise. The corrosion problem caused by sulfur-containing wastewater in oil fields and refineries is currently a difficult issue in the petroleum industry, and has attracted attention from the anti-corrosion community. Through experimental screening, epoxy furan fiberglass pipes exhibit the best resistance to corrosion caused by oilfield wastewater.
