The quality of coating application is related to the service life of the application equipment and pipelines. According to relevant regulations and practical experience, the application temperature should be between 5 and 35°C, with the optimal temperature for application being between 5 and 25°C. The relative humidity should not exceed 85%, and it is best to keep it below 60%. The surface temperature of the object to be coated should be 3°C higher than the dew point temperature. Construction should not be carried out outdoors in windy, sandy, rainy, or snowy weather. For coating inside containers such as storage tanks, a dehumidifier should be used to ventilate and control humidity. Before application, the paint should be filtered and mixed evenly. Application can be done by brushing, rolling, air spraying, or high-pressure airless spraying. When brushing on, the application should be carried out back and forth in a crisscross pattern until even coverage is achieved. During spraying, the appropriate pressure and the distance between the nozzle and the surface to be coated should be controlled. Brushing, rolling, and spraying should all be done evenly, with no areas left uncoated. If the same paint is used for multiple coats, it is advisable to tint it differently to prevent missed areas. If the surface is uneven or has weld ripples, put on putty to smooth it out, then apply the primer. Equipment and fittings should be coated only after passing the airtightness or strength tests; the weld areas should be reserved and repainted after the tests.
