I. Source control: Strengthening the desalination preprocessing of crude oil. The key is to use electrodesalination processes to remove inorganic salts such as sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, and calcium chloride from crude oil in a thorough manner. Refineries generally employ two-stage or three-stage electrodesalination systems to keep the salt content in the crude oil after desalination at ≤3 mg/L, thereby reducing the overall amount of HCl generated through hydrolysis during subsequent processing steps. II. Process optimization: Eliminating the conditions for corrosion to occur. The “one removal and four injections” process is improved by injecting neutralizers into the system after desalination, in order to neutralize corrosive substances such as HCl that have been formed, and to adjust the pH value of the condensate at the top of the tower to a safe range. Optimize the operating temperature to avoid the range where low-temperature dew points cause corrosion, and prevent HCl from condensing directly on the surface of the equipment, thereby creating a highly corrosive environment. III. Hardware upgrade: Improving the corrosion resistance of equipment. Corrosion-resistant materials are used, with aluminum-impregnated steel and TP316L alloy steel among other resistant materials being employed in areas prone to corrosion, thereby directly enhancing the corrosion resistance of the equipment itself. Apply special anti-corrosion coatings to the inner walls of the equipment, or inject corrosion inhibitors specifically at the tower top and in areas where high-temperature heavy oil is present; this prevents the progression of corrosion through physical isolation and chemical film formation.
