Dear users, in order to help everyone learn the *ProII process simulation software better – so that beginners can gain knowledge and experienced users can refresh their skills – we are launching a series of activities titled “Making Progress Every Day” for learning the basics of ProII. Since I primarily use Aspen Plus/Hysys in my work, I have not studied ProII software systematically; therefore, the knowledge I offer might be quite basic. I hope fellow users will provide valuable suggestions and opinions, and actively participate in the discussions. Multiple-choice question: 10. Which of the following statements about the separation unit operations in PROII is correct? A. The functions of the distillation model mainly include determining the required number of equilibrium stages and the reflux ratio ; Select an appropriate vapor-liquid contact method (tray, packing) ; Determine the actual number of theoretical plates or packing height required for a certain feeding and discharging position ; Determine the diameter of the tower ; Identify other factors that may affect tower operation. B. The absorption process achieves separation based on the different solubilities of the various components in a certain solvent. C. In the model for absorption, the Distillation module is used; no condenser or reboiler is installed. The feed gas enters at the bottom of the tower, while the absorbent liquid enters at the top. D. Liquid-liquid extraction is a method for separating fluid mixtures; it is a unit operation that utilizes the differences in solubility of various components within a liquid mixture in a certain solvent to separate one or more of those components from the mixture.
