When using the Haochen CAD software to create drawings, the CAD object snap function is often needed. It can be tricky to capture points when there are many graphics present. Is there any simple way to help us capture the desired points quickly? Next, I will provide you with a detailed explanation of solutions to the problem of having difficulty locating the desired points in the graphics functions of Haochen CAD software! We can take a look at the use of the TAB key by switching between capturing endpoints and midpoints of a line: 1. First, draw a line, enable object snapping, and set the endpoint and midpoint options. 2. Enter the L command to draw a line; move the cursor to one of the lines in the diagram, then press the TAB key to observe the changes in the snap points, as shown in the figure below. It can be seen that the cursor position has not changed; pressing the TAB key allows switching between the midpoint and the two endpoints. Of course, capturing the endpoints and midpoint of a simple straight line can be done easily by moving the cursor, without the need to press the TAB key at all. Let’s look at a slightly more complex example: three intersecting lines form a small triangle. When the cursor is moved near this small triangle, it’s possible to select one of the intersection points or the midpoint of one of the lines, and in such cases, the TAB key is very useful. As shown in the figure below. With the cursor positioned at the location shown in the diagram, pressing the TAB key allows you to capture the intersection points, midpoints, endpoints, etc., of the three lines. During this process, not only are capture markers displayed, but the relevant lines are also shown in dashed lines, enabling us to clearly identify which line’s midpoint or which two lines’ intersection point is being targeted. In some cases, as there is a priority order among the capture options, only the TAB key can be used to switch to the capture option we need. For example, if the capture options for both the center of the circle and the tangent point are enabled, when moving the cursor onto the circle to locate the second point while drawing a line, the tangent point will be captured first. At this point, you can press the TAB key to switch to capturing the center of the circle or the tangent point on the other side, as shown in the figure below. Many people find it troublesome to set the capture options repeatedly, so they simply turn on all of them; I do not recommend doing this. This not only increases the computational load on CAD software, causing operations to slow down significantly when the graphics are very complex, but it also leads to interference between different snap options. It is recommended to keep only a few commonly used capture options enabled at all times, such as endpoints, midpoints, intersection points, and circle centers. When other options need to be used temporarily, they can be invoked by entering commands, using the toolbar, or through SHIFT+right-click menu – this will actually improve overall efficiency. Of course, don’t forget that the TAB key is also available for use. When using the HaoChen CAD software for drawing, it is sometimes necessary to create relatively complex graphics.
