Our plant uses isothermal shift reactors for the shift process; there are purification reactors in front of these shift reactors (one in operation and one as backup). At the upper part of the purification reactors lies a protective agent, while at the lower part there is both a protective agent and some catalyst. Currently, the pressure difference in purification reactor A has increased, so it has been switched to reactor B.
