In a certain 30/52 ammonia synthesis urea plant, the nitrogen temperature increase in the conversion system refers to the temperature rise of the first and second stage furnaces as well as the high-temperature shift catalyst; after the nitrogen temperature has increased, the steam temperature is then increased. It takes about 22–24 hours to heat the nitrogen, mainly due to the slow heating rate of the high-varying bed layers (it is required that the temperature of each high-varying bed layer be no less than 200°C by the end of the nitrogen heating process). How can we reduce the time required to heat the nitrogen in the conversion system? Or a method to speed up the heating time of the highly variable bed layer. The slow heating rate of nitrogen is mainly due to the heating curve of Section 1 of the furnace. . With two-stage furnaces and high-temperature converters, there is no other option; one can only rely on increasing the temperature of the single-stage furnace. Moreover, raising the nitrogen temperature is usually done after major repairs or when the plant is shut down for a long period of time, giving enough time to do so – there’s no need to rush this process. . .
A too rapid rise in temperature is not necessarily a good thing!
