At 8:40 on April 28, the third fertilizer production unit of China National Petroleum Corporation’s Ningxia Petrochemical facility successfully manufactured qualified urea with loss control capabilities. This is another significant achievement in the company’s efforts to upgrade its urea products and improve their quality and efficiency. In order to promote the transformation and development of its fertilizer production facilities and improve the product mix, Ningxia Petrochemical Company decided to undertake research and development on new types of urea with reduced loss. The company’s technical staff went to manufacturers in Henan, Shanxi and other regions to gather insights and start working on the development of these new products. Through investigation and analytical research, by adding a loss control and efficiency-enhancing agent to the existing urea production line, loss control and efficiency-enhancing urea was successfully trial-produced, which improves the absorption of nutrients by crops and helps increase yields and revenue. During the trial production phase, the company strived for excellence in product quality; it adjusted the levels and flow rates of the loss control agents by optimizing the composition of raw materials and strengthening operational inspections, ensuring that the particle size of urea met the specified standards. It also ensured that the content of chelated zinc in urea was ≥0.02% and that the rate of ammonia volatilization was ≥10%, thus guaranteeing that the finished urea products leaving the factory met all quality requirements. It is said that loss-control and efficiency-enhancing urea is a new type of urea to which a patented nitrogen fertilizer loss-control and efficiency-enhancing agent has been added. When applied to the soil, this nitrogen fertilizer can effectively prolong the retention time of urea in the soil, promote root uptake of nutrients, and improve crop quality and yield, thus offering good market prospects.
