Date: November 12, 2020 Clicks: 9 On January 11, the turbine in the refrigeration station unit of the 1.8 million tons per year methanol purification unit, as part of Yueneng Chemical’s Phase I completion project, was successfully started up for the first time, thanks to the EPC contracting by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. During the startup process, the equipment began by warming up the main steam pipeline, then started the turbine for low-speed warming up (with the turbine running at 900 revolutions per minute) and high-speed warming up (with the turbine running at 5668 revolutions per minute to 7557 revolutions per minute). Eventually, a successful trip was achieved at a speed of 8570 revolutions per minute, which met the design requirements. The successful prime motion of the turbine created favorable conditions for the subsequent testing of the propylene compressor.
