On August 25th, at 14:25, the ice maker in the ammonia synthesis unit at the Methanol Branch of Daqing Oilfield was started, and actual liquid ammonia product was produced at 14:40. Thus, the ammonia synthesis unit of the methanol branch successfully completed its first scheduled maintenance window as planned, with all processes restored to normal operation, allowing the unit to enter production mode. In the \"stop ammonia production while maintaining hydrogen\" operation mode, equipment maintenance in winter is constrained for ammonia synthesis plants. This maintenance campaign during the \"golden window period\" lasted 10 days, focusing on addressing those maintenance tasks that could not be carried out due to the low winter temperatures, as well as resolving potential problems that arose during the plant’s operation. A total of 120 maintenance tasks, large and small, were completed. Focusing on torch system technical services and hazard resolution, the physical and chemical inspection tasks involve 22 containers and 37 pipelines; fault diagnosis and testing are carried out for blowers, compressors, and pressure combination units, as well as leak detection and repair work on steam superheaters. There are 24 self-inspection items. The synthetic ammonia workshop takes the comprehensive control and implementation without any blind spots as its key measure, implementing designated monitoring and on-site supervision. At the same time, in accordance with the key milestones of the shutdown process and the daily work schedule, managers and operators are required to proceed with various maintenance tasks in an orderly manner by confirming each step of the maintenance work one by one. In order to determine as quickly as possible the degree of deformation of the tubes inside the conversion furnace and the location of leaks in the steam superheater, Li Xin, the deputy head of the equipment team, along with technician Feng Qingan, entered the still-hot and dark furnace on multiple occasions. Crouching down, they used the light from flashlights to navigate around and take repeated measurements in order to locate the leak points. The heavy dustproof suit was airtight, and sweat under the safety helmet streamed down the cheeks. Upon climbing out, the two of them lay in a well-ventilated area, taking in large breaths of the long-missed outdoor air. Upon careful inspection, it was found that the leakage in the steam generator above the steam superheater was more severe. To meet the operating conditions of the facility, these hidden hazards here must be completely removed. During the pressure testing for leak detection, the pressure was gradually increased from 0 to 60 kilograms, during which more than 20 minor leaks were identified and fixed. Currently, the various parameters of the ammonia synthesis plant are being adjusted steadily, and the process engineering team has taken over from the equipment team, entering a on-site operation mode to ensure the stable operation of the plant with all available efforts.
