Recently, Tianyue Branch invited three technical companies including Shanghai Jingye Environmental Energy Technology Co., Ltd., as well as leaders from the chemical engineering center and experts from relevant technical departments, to conduct a technical discussion on converting direct cooling to intermediary cooling for gas generation furnaces. The company’s gas production facility currently has 16 fixed-bed batch gasification units, which represent an outdated technology that needs to be upgraded in line with **industrial policy requirements. However, due to the high costs and complexity associated with upgrading these gasification units, it is extremely difficult to carry out a complete transformation of them in the short term. Following multiple field inspections, the company plans to adopt a direct cooling system using circulating water from gas generators instead of indirect cooling, as an environmental improvement measure to be implemented before a comprehensive upgrade of the gasification equipment. At the exchange seminar, the three technology manufacturers, taking into account the company’s specific circumstances, conducted detailed discussions and analyses regarding process routes, process equipment, process parameters, and site selection. They also answered one by one the questions related to processes, safety, environmental protection, and economic benefits raised by the company’s technical staff and experts from the chemical engineering center, providing strong technical support to facilitate the rapid implementation of this project. As a key pilot unit for the project of replacing direct cooling with intercooling in chemical enterprises across the company, Tianyue Branch took the lead in carrying out this project to replace direct cooling with intercooling in gas generation furnaces. This not only has a significant impact on the safety, environmental protection, and energy conservation efforts of this branch, but it also provides valuable technical references for other companies in the Lanhua Chemical Group, as well as for chemical enterprises throughout the city, during the transition from traditional gas generation processes to gasification systems.
