Progress in the Construction of Baogang Synthetic Ammonia Project Author/Source: Refining & Chemical Industry Updates Date: 2020-12-21 Clicks: 2 Recently, Saiding Company completed the topping-out work on the accident tank for the Baogang Synthetic Ammonia project under its EPC contract, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent key construction phases. This marks an important achievement by the project team in actively implementing the company’s strategy of \"fighting the pandemic while ensuring revenue growth\". The total investment for the ammonia synthesis project is 193.2014 million yuan, funded and constructed by Baogang Steel Union Co., Ltd. The construction project of a 70,000-ton/year methanol plant with co-production of ammonia mainly utilizes the existing methanol plant’s 27,000 Nm3/h of off-gas, as well as the air separation unit’s approximately 12,500 Nm3/h of nitrogen, for the synthesis of methanol. It mainly produces 70,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year, with a by-product of 8,551.5 Nm3/h of fuel gas. To date, a total of 315 tons of rebar has been fabricated and installed on site, 3,500 cubic meters of concrete has been poured, 1,800 meters of water supply and drainage pipes have been installed, 20,000 cubic meters of earthwork has been excavated, and 2,900 pile foundations have been completed. The roof of the accident tank has now been finished, all the main roads within the plant area have been constructed, and the entire water supply and drainage network in the plant area has been built, creating very favorable conditions for subsequent construction work.
