In Cangzhou in June, the sun is scorching hot ; Within the gas production workshop area of Hebei Dongguang Chemical Plant No. 1, there was the sound of people and horses, creating a bustling atmosphere. In the first half of 2020, the UGI fixed-bed coal gasification multi-pollutant purification project (Phase II), carried out jointly by Shanghai Jingye Environmental Protection Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Jingye”) and Hebei Dongguang Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dongguang Chemical”), was in full progress. The construction of this project is now nearing completion. The gas purification and filtration module GCM has been installed in place, and work is currently underway on the installation and commissioning of the associated process pipelines, electrical systems, and instrumentation. Shanghai Jingye Environmental Protection Company has developed a multi-pollutant purification system for coal-to-gas production, tailored for the environmental improvement of fixed-bed processes; this system has received high recognition from industry professionals and environmental protection authorities. It is believed that this system represents the best approach to rapidly reducing the total amount of pollutants under the current challenging circumstances: it requires a short renovation period, involves low investment costs, and enables a significant reduction in the total amount of pollutants ; It also helps to reduce the assessment of indicators such as tons of ammonia per unit of wastewater, exhaust gas, waste residue, and ammonia consumption per ton. It was precisely recognizing this that the decision-makers at Dongguang Chemical acted with foresight, investing substantial funds and showing great courage. With a spirit of being pioneers, they joined forces with Zhengyuan and Shanghai Jingye to carry out comprehensive environmental protection upgrades for all 42 gas generation furnaces in the plant; the completion of these upgrades is expected by the end of November this year. To date, the pilot plant has been operating stably for 7 months, and the pilot-scale samples meet the expected standards; by then, environmental hazards such as gray water, VOCs, and wet slag that affect production will be fully addressed, controlled, and utilized sustainably.
