It was recently learned that the project of Inner Mongolia Kubuqi Hydrogen Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons of urea per year, is part of the expansion phase of the \"Yili Resources Group Co., Ltd. project to produce 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 1.04 million tons of urea per year\"; it constitutes the second phase of that project. On September 15, 2022, the Development and Reform Commission of Hangjin Banner issued the \"Notice on Approving the Change in Owner for Yili Resources Group Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 1.04 million tons of urea per year\" (Hang Fa Gai Fa No. 125). With the construction location, scale, and investment remaining unchanged, the project owner has been changed from Ordos Yiding Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. to Inner Mongolia Kubuqi Hydrogen Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd. Inner Mongolia Kubuqi Hydrogen Fertilizer Technology Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons of urea per year. Nature of the project: new construction. Location of construction: Duguitala Industrial Park (North Area), Hangjin Economic Development Zone, Ordos, Inner Mongolia. Investment required: 4,730,820,000 yuan, of which 4,370,770,000 yuan is allocated to civil engineering works. Construction content and scale: The project uses local coal as raw material and employs pressurized coal gasification technology to produce 300,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia and 520,000 tons per year of urea, while also generating sulfur as a by-product. The main production units to be constructed include a gasification unit, an ammonia synthesis unit, a urea unit, etc. Gasification unit: A gasifier with a production capacity of 110,000 Nm3/h of dry gas. Purification unit: mainly for syngas purification, including shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, liquid nitrogen washing, sulfur recovery, etc. The purification capacity is 110,000 (CO+H2) Nm3/h per year. Ammonia synthesis plant: a unit with a production capacity of 300,000 tons per year. Urea plant: A facility with an annual production capacity of 520,000 tons of urea.
