Therefore, after extensive research, Tongmei Group has decided to start construction of a project to produce hydrogen from 5,000 tons of methanol off-gas per year. The total investment for this project is 37.97 million yuan, and it is planned to be built in two phases. Phase 1 will be constructed in 2020, with 1,700 tons of high-purity hydrogen to be produced annually. Subsequently, the second-phase construction will be carried out based on the market demand for hydrogen energy. Upon completion of the two phases of the project, 5,000 tons of hydrogen products can be produced annually, generating an annual output value of around 100 million yuan. As a new member and key project in the group company’s coal chemical sector, this project represents the group company’s active response to the \"Gasify Shanxi\" strategy. By leveraging modern coal chemical technologies, it aims to convert coal into valuable products, increase their added value, develop the industry chain for methanol and its derivatives, and establish a coal chemical industry base in northern Shanxi. It is also a practical approach to achieving economic transformation and rapid development for the group company. Kang Silэ, director of the technology center at Guangfa Chemical Industry Company, said, “The entire project makes use of the off-gases generated in methanol synthesis; through pressure swing adsorption technology, hydrogen is purified to achieve a purity of 99.999%, which is sufficient to meet the needs of hydrogen-powered vehicles and other industries that rely on hydrogen energy.” ” According to the plan, this project is set to begin operations within this year. Meanwhile, a 4 billion cubic meter coal-to-natural gas project, as well as a 75 MPa liquid hydrogen project along with associated hydrogen refueling stations, are also being advanced simultaneously. The implementation and full operation of these projects will further expand the scope of the coal chemical industry, providing a solid foundation for the group company to pioneer a new path for transformation and development. Project Overview: The “5,000 tons/year hydrogen recovery technology upgrade project for Tongmei Guangfa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.” is an initiative taken by this company in response to Datong City’s efforts to develop a new energy industry base. It involves using the high-pressure off-gases from existing methanol synthesis processes; after separation through Prism membranes, permeate gas with a hydrogen purity of 84.29% is obtained, which is then further processed to yield hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%. This high-purity hydrogen will be supplied entirely to the **planned hydrogen fueling stations, thereby meeting the requirements of hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen-powered vehicles. The Administrative Approval and Service Management Bureau of Yungang District, Datong City, approved this project in accordance with Document No. 26 on Approval and Filing at Yungang, titled \"Approval for the Filing of the 5,000 tons per year hydrogen recovery technology upgrade project of Tongmei Guangfa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.\" The project is located within the premises of Dongtongmei Guangfa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in Luoliwan Village, Xihanling Township, Yungang District, Datong City, and is administratively under the jurisdiction of Yungang District, Datong City. Main construction contents: The new main project includes: the PSA hydrogen production system (1 feed gas cooler, 1 gas-liquid separator, 10 adsorption towers, 1 product gas buffer tank, 2 forward venting buffer tanks, 1 reverse venting buffer tank, 1 desorbed gas mixing tank, and 2 desorbed gas compressors) and the hydrogen compression and filling system (6 hydrogen compressors and 10 hydrogen filling stations) ； The new utility systems include: pipelines for transporting feed gas and desorbed by-product gas, 1 substation, as well as water supply and drainage systems and external piping within the plant area ； The facilities utilized for this project include the existing water supply and drainage systems of Tongmei Guangfa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (such as water supply and drainage pipes, sewage treatment plants, etc.), as well as the by-product steam, air compressors, and office and living facilities from the existing plant. This project falls under the category of environmental protection projects, with the investment amounting to 37.9755 million yuan, which is equivalent to an investment in environmental protection.
