More than 60 people attended the signing ceremony, including Li Junguang, Deputy Secretary of the Long’an District Party Committee and District Head; Gu Xiaodong, Vice President of Air Chemicals Products (China) Investment Company; Zhang Lin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Henan Energy and Chemical Group, and Zhao Tao, Deputy General Manager of Wuhuan Engineering Company; Wang Junhua, Member of the Long’an District Party Committee and Executive Deputy District Head; Han Lianguo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Anhua Group Company; Xu Aijun, Deputy General Manager (in charge of management affairs), Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Deputy Chairman; Wang Gang, Chief Financial Officer; Gao Shanjun, Chief Engineer; relevant department heads from the Long’an District Party Committee and government; as well as party and administrative leaders from various units within the company. On the afternoon of September 3 and the morning of September 4, Anhua Group Company, Air Products and Chemicals (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. held a meeting to discuss the technical aspects of the Anhua raw material route project. On April 21, China Wuhuan Company successfully signed the engineering design contract for the upgrade project of the raw material processing route at Anyang Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. It is understood that the raw material processing route upgrade project of Anhua Group Company is one of the key construction projects designated by Henan Province for 2019. The investment in this project amounts to 3.666 billion yuan; it involves upgrading the existing ammonia/sulfuric acid and methanol production facilities. The existing auxiliary units, such as atmospheric pressure fixed-bed gasifiers, atmospheric pressure wet desulfurization systems, medium-pressure shift reactors, wet carbon removal systems, methanation gas purification units, the first set of 30.0 MPa ammonia synthesis plants, as well as the sulfuric acid and methanol production units, will be phased out. In their place, new facilities for coal water slurry gas generation and ethylene glycol production will be built, along with supporting infrastructure such as air separation units, boilers, circulating water systems, accident storage tanks, fire protection stations, and wastewater recycling stations. Upon completion of the project’s upgrade and renovation, it will be able to supply feed gas to newly built and existing plants for the production of ethylene glycol, as well as to plants that produce formamide, sodium formate, DMF, etc. It will also be capable of producing 200,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, along with 10,000 tons of DMC, 10,000 tons of ethanol, and 0.2 million tons of diethylene glycol per year. The upgrade of the Anhua raw material processing route is planned to involve gasification, adiabatic + isothermal shift reactions, low-temperature methanol washing to remove acidic gases, and cryogenic separation to extract CO, etc. Ammonia will be produced at a capacity of 300,000 tons per year using a low-pressure process of 15 MPa, with the production of formamide and N-methylformamide also being carried out as part of this process.
