Shanxi Jinxiang Coal Chemical utilizes pure oxygen oxidation to upgrade its oxygen-enriched gas production process. It employs normal-pressure fixed-bed continuous oxygenation to produce semi-water gas, followed by wet-tannin desulfurization, sulfur-resistant low-temperature shift reaction, pressure swing adsorption for carbon removal, further desulfurization, low-pressure methanol synthesis, alkylation processes for purification, 22 MPa ammonia synthesis, hollow-film separation for hydrogen recovery, and the carbon dioxide stripping method for urea production. The plant is capable of producing 180,000 tons per year of ammonia, 60,000 tons per year of crude alcohol, and 300,000 tons per year of urea. Among them, the gas production is carried out by 20 φ2650 oxygen-enriched furnaces. Shanxi Jinxiang Coal Chemical plans to use 10 φ3100 continuous pure oxygen gas generation furnaces, along with a new air separation unit with a capacity of 16,000 m3/h, in order to carry out an upgrade to oxygen-enriched gas production. The coal preparation, purification, ammonia synthesis, low-pressure methanol synthesis, and urea production units remain unchanged. In September 2020, the ** website of Yangcheng County published a draft environmental impact assessment for the upgrade project of oxygen-enriched gas production at Shanxi Jinxiang Coal Chemical Company for public comments. According to a report from Jinxiang Coal Chemical at the end of September, Zhongyuan International Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. recently held a review meeting for the \"Energy Saving Assessment Report on the Upgrade Project of the Oxygen-enriched Gas Production Furnace at Shanxi Jinxiang Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.\" at the company’s premises. The energy conservation assessment report has passed expert review.
