On August 4, 2025, Nanjing Jutuo Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. received a “Notice of Award” from Sinochem Commerce Co., Ltd. on the Sinochem Commerce electronic bidding platform. The notice stated that: On behalf of Yunnan Jiehua Lüyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. (the purchaser), we hereby solemnly inform you that the tender documents submitted by your company for the procurement project bearing the code 0747-2560SCCYN082—entitled “Procurement of the process package and patented/proprietary equipment for the ammonia synthesis unit in the Jiehua Relocation Project”—have been accepted by the purchaser as meeting all requirements. Accordingly, please appoint a authorized representative within 30 days of receiving this notice to sign a contract with the purchaser regarding the awarded project and related services... The resolution and relocation project falls under the category of relocation and upgrading projects for entry into industrial parks; the proposed location is the Xiaolongtan Chemical Industry Park in the Mengzi Economic and Technological Development Zone, located 5 kilometers north of Xiaolongtan Town in Kaiyuan City. The project covers an area of approximately 1,660 mu. Its main construction components include facilities for ammonia synthesis, nitric acid production, ammonium nitrate production, urea production, and the manufacture of water-soluble urea-based and nitro-based fertilizers, along with supporting utility and auxiliary facilities. Among them, the designed capacity of the ammonia synthesis system (from coal storage and transportation to the ammonia synthesis unit) is: 83.3 tons/hour of liquid ammonia at 100% load. The operating flexibility ranges from 60% to 110%. The continuous operation time should be no less than 3 years, with an annual operation time of no less than 8,000 hours, which is equivalent to an annual production of 660,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. As a domestic medium-sized nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer with a long history, Yunnan Jiehua Company originally had three series of ammonia synthesis units, namely No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5. For the initial operation of these units, internal components for the synthesis towers were supplied by internationally renowned engineering companies. After 2023, due to issues such as high system pressure, high tower resistance, low production capacity, and high energy consumption that affected production, the company replaced the internal components of these ammonia synthesis towers one after another, without making any changes to the process itself. The new internal components were all of the DC-Z type, manufactured by Nanjing Jutuo Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. After the installation of the new internal components, the energy consumption of the ammonia synthesis plant has significantly decreased, while its output has risen substantially. On April 15, 2025, the daily ammonia production reached 1,303 tons, marking the highest level since the plant’s establishment. For the core components of this relocation and renovation project—the process package for the ammonia synthesis system and the internal components of the synthesis tower—Nanjing Jutuo Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. has designed and manufactured them in accordance with current international advanced standards. These components feature low pressure, low energy consumption, efficient heat recovery, and high synthesis efficiency. The designed production capacity is 2,000 tons of ammonia per day. On August 1, the results of the bidding for the procurement of process packages and patented (proprietary) equipment for the 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia and related downstream projects at Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. were made public: The winning bidder is Taiyuan Baiwu Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. Project overview: Project name – Yunnan Jiehua Lvyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 500,000-ton synthetic ammonia and related downstream projects. Construction details: Construction of a 500,000-ton/year synthetic ammonia plant; downstream facilities include a 540,000-ton/year nitric acid plant (by upgrading the existing 270,000-ton/year nitric acid plant and building another 270,000-ton/year plant), a 450,000-ton/year ammonium nitrate plant (by upgrading the existing 200,000-ton/year ammonium nitrate plant and building another 250,000-ton/year plant), a 500,000-ton/year urea plant, a 300,000-ton/year ammonium nitrate phosphate water-soluble fertilizer plant, a 300,000-ton/year urea-based water-soluble fertilizer plant, and a 100,000-ton/year dimethyl carbonate plant (for use in materials and batteries). Complementary public and auxiliary facilities shall be constructed. Construction location: Xiaolongtan Chemical Industry Park, Mengzi Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kaiyuan City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Project investment: 729,543,000 yuan. Technical features: The core technology makes use of advanced powder gasification technology, which results in a significantly higher gasification efficiency compared to traditional methods; the carbon conversion rate reaches 98%, effectively addressing the challenge of efficient utilization of low-grade lignite. By utilizing autonomous cleaning technology, energy consumption is reduced by about 30%, which is significantly better than the **industry benchmark. Environmental protection measures: In terms of exhaust gas treatment, the exhaust gases generated by various units are processed using methods such as bag filtration, low-nitrogen combustion, and SCR denitrification, depending on their properties. These gases are then emitted through exhaust stacks at different heights to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Wastewater treatment adheres to the principles of “water conservation, separation of clean and polluted water, separation of rainwater and sewage, treatment based on water quality, and water recycling”. A wastewater pretreatment unit is installed within the facility; additionally, there are a wastewater treatment plant and a reclaimed water plant throughout the entire plant. The wastewater treatment plant has a designed treatment capacity of 300 m³/h, and it employs a process consisting of “pretreatment + modified SBR + denitrification filter”. Significance of the project: It represents an important step taken by Yunnan Nengtou Group and Yunnan Coal Group to implement relevant strategic plans. As the leading enterprise in the Honghe Prefecture integration hub, it will supply the park with stable basic chemical raw materials and help attract the development of high-end electronic chemicals industry clusters. It is expected that after completion and operation by 2028, the annual output value will be 4 billion yuan, generating profits and taxes of 900 million yuan. It is also possible to leverage the China-Laos Railway and the Pan-Asian railway network to reach markets such as Laos, Vietnam, and **, thereby deepening industrial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
