Whether the various processing units can operate optimally determines whether the quality and quantity of raw gas meet the requirements of subsequent stages, as well as whether the entire production system can function economically, stably, and over a long period of time. To eliminate production bottlenecks, the company carried out technical upgrades to address the issues existing in that workshop. First, during a partial shutdown, one Roots blower was replaced; as a result, the air delivery volume increased from 609 m³/min to 695 m³/min ; Secondly, the newly added secondary electro-desulfurization not only significantly reduces the resistance in the semi-decomposition system but also provides cleaner semi-water gas for the subsequent processing stages ; Thirdly, the additional conversion system introduced in the conversion section reduced the system resistance from 0.22 MPa to 0.092 MPa, thereby lowering the electricity consumption for compressing gases in the compression section. At the same time, an additional shift gas valve was installed at the outlet of each heat exchanger for the shift gas; these valves allow for control of the gas flow rate to furnace B and an increase in the inlet temperature of furnace A, thereby simplifying operations and making it easier to control and stabilize the bed temperature.
The system resistance decreased from 0.22 MPa to 0.092 MPa, reducing the electricity consumption for compressing gas in the compression section.
For the coal chemical industry, it is necessary to shift toward cleaner production technologies in the next step. The Roots blower has a capacity of 700 m3/min, or 42,000 m3/h; should this waste gas be treated to remove odors, sulfur compounds, and VOCs? If it’s done, will the cost be bearable?
