Lianhong Group focuses on the new materials industry. Lianhong New Materials (003022.SZ) is the core company of the Lianhong Group. Having been listed for just over a year, Lianhong New Materials is accelerating the implementation of its various new material projects, and new progress has been made since December: following the signing of the contract for the general contracting of the 100,000 tons per year lithium battery materials – carbonate production facility on December 1, the technical upgrade project for the second reactor unit of Lianhong New Materials’ polypropylene (PP) facility was successfully commissioned on December 15. On December 24, Lianhong New Materials issued a announcement stating that it had signed a technical cooperation agreement for the biodegradable material PPC (polypropylene carbonate) project with the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences; its holding subsidiary, Lianhong Gerun, will build an industrial production line capable of producing 50,000 tons per year of PPC. At present, the tubular tail upgrade project for Lianhong New Materials’ EVA plant, as well as the 100,000 tons per year lithium battery materials-carbonate combined plant project, are in full progress, with both scheduled to go into operation in 2022 ； Lianhong Chemical, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lianhong New Materials, has entered the construction phase for its projects to produce 20,000 tons per year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and 100,000 tons per year of vinyl acetate ； The holding subsidiary, Jiangxi Academy of Sciences Biology, has completed the registration for the projects to produce 200,000 tons per year of lactic acid and 130,000 tons per year of PLA (polylactic acid) ； The holding subsidiary Lianhong Gerun has completed the registration for the 150,000 tons per year PLA biodegradable materials project, as well as for the integrated project involving new energy materials and biodegradable materials. This integrated project includes a 1.3 million tons per year MTO (methanol-to-olefins) plant, a 200,000 tons per year EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) plant, a 200,000 tons per year PO (propylene oxide) plant, a 50,000 tons per year PPC plant, along with related supporting facilities.
