Performance Optimization Project for the Compressor Control Systems at Enehua: Passes Performance Assessment Author/Source: Harmony Enehua Date: 2020-09-22 Clicks: 129 In June 2020, Enehua Company took advantage of the maintenance period to optimize the control systems of its air compressors, ammonia compressors, and carbon dioxide compressors. After two months of stable operation, it recently passed the project performance assessment, which is reflected in the following aspects: first, the operation of the units has become safer and more stable. By measuring the anti-surge curves, the existing surge curves were revised to ensure the safe and stable operation of the unit and meet the system’s production requirements ; Second, the degree of automation has increased significantly, reducing the workload on employees. The performance control of the compressor unit allows it to be activated or deactivated as needed for production, without any disruption to the system. The start-up and shutdown of the unit are carried out automatically, with the unit’s speed fluctuating by no more than ±10 rpm from the target value. Based on load changes, the openings of the guide vanes and anti-stall valves are automatically adjusted, without the need for manual intervention. Third, the unit operates more efficiently in terms of energy use. The anti-surge automatic control reduces the anti-surge flow rate at various stages of the unit, thereby lowering the compressor’s energy consumption. This results in approximately 10 tons of high-pressure steam being saved per hour, leading to cost savings of around 8 million yuan per year.
