The energy-saving technology upgrade project for gasification at Xiangyu Salt Chemical has entered the equipment commissioning phase. Author/Source: Date: 2022-11-26 Clicks: 18 On November 23, reporters learned from the site of this project, carried out by Chongqing Xiangyu Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. – a leading enterprise in the salt and gas chemical industry in our region (hereinafter referred to as Xiangyu Salt Chemical) – that the project is now in the equipment commissioning stage, with trial production set to begin by the end of next month. Once operational, the project will enable the savings of 35,000 tons of standard coal per year, as well as a reduction of around 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. On that day, reporters learned at the project construction site that the main construction work and equipment installation for the entire project had been completed, and individual equipment commissioning was currently underway. In light of the current pandemic situation, the project department is strengthening closed-loop management of construction and strictly implementing various epidemic prevention measures to ensure the safe and orderly progress of the project. “Technicians are conducting online monitoring of the equipment at various locations, as well as adjusting systems such as the ammonia synthesis production process. ”Yan Shuanghua, manager of the Xiangyu Salt Chemical Project Department at China Five Rings Engineering Co., Ltd., explained that the project utilizes advanced central control systems available in China, enabling automated control across the entire process – from raw material feeding to production management and product output. This approach achieves integrated control, intelligent production, and smart management. The total investment in the energy-saving technology upgrade project for salt and chemical gasification in Hunan and Chongqing amounts to 1.54 billion yuan, with a total construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters. The construction includes air separation units, gasification units, purification units, and synthesis units, as well as supporting utility systems such as circulating water systems, water softening systems, and steam systems, as well as auxiliary facilities like central control rooms. The project employs advanced processes and a range of equipment with independent domestic intellectual property rights; the overall degree of localization exceeds 90%. By utilizing advanced domestic coal-water slurry pressurized gasification technology that boasts a solid theoretical foundation and extensive practical experience, the facility will be capable of automated production, information-based management, and intelligent operation once it comes online, enabling the company to achieve an annual ammonia production capacity of 300,000 tons. Once the energy-saving technology upgrade project for coal gasification is put into operation, it will enable the savings of 35,000 tons of standard coal per year, a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of around 100,000 tons, and an increase in annual profits of approximately 200 million yuan. Moreover, it will help promote the development of related industries such as gas processing, thereby fostering a chemical industry cluster in Wanzhou centered on caustic soda, soda ash, and new energy sources. It is understood that as one of the largest production bases for well-mined salt and soda ash in the country, Xiangyu Salt Chemical’s products include vacuum-produced salt, synthetic ammonia, and soda ash, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons of salt, 700,000 tons of soda ash, and 700,000 tons of ammonium chloride. With the completion of a series of energy-saving and environmental protection improvement projects, including those related to the upgrading of gasification technologies for energy savings, Xiangyu Salt Chemical will rank among the top three caustic soda manufacturers in the country in terms of cost control within its industry.
