Recently, Baicheng conducted the first public announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment for the 60,000 tons per year ammonia synthesis project as part of Xinjiang Leishuo Chemical Co., Ltd.’s comprehensive utilization project for coke oven exhaust gases. Xinjiang Leishuo Chemical Co., Ltd. plans to use the 200,000 tons per year of methanol off-gas produced by Baicheng Zhongtai Coal Coking Co., Ltd. as feed gas to produce synthetic ammonia. The methanol off-gas is transported via pipeline to the construction site, which is approximately 2.5 km away. The project involves the acquisition of process equipment such as pressure swing adsorption units, ammonia synthesis units, compression units, cold zone systems, liquid ammonia storage and transportation systems, and nitrogen and hydrogen pretreatment units. It utilizes the ammonia synthesis process based on patented technology from Hunan Anchun High-Tech Co., Ltd., with an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. The project site is located in the Industrial Park of Baicheng County. Xinjiang Zhongtai Coal Coking utilizes the 600,000 tons per year coking plant and the 1.3 million tons per year coking plant owned by Bai County Zhongtai Coal Coking Company, as well as the coke oven gas from Fengfeng Coal Coking Co., Ltd., to produce 200,000 tons per year of pure methanol through processes such as iron-molybdenum hydrogenation catalysis, zinc oxide dry desulfurization, oxygen conversion, syngas compression, low-pressure methanol synthesis, and distillation. Designed by Southwest Institute. It came online in March 2021.
