This marks a significant breakthrough in the transformation and development of urea production enterprises that use natural gas as raw material, and it holds pioneering exemplary significance within the industry. As a company that uses natural gas as raw material to produce fertilizers and melamine, Zhongyuan Dahua has faced severe challenges in recent years due to shortages of raw gas. As the gas production volume in the Zhongyuan Oilfield declines year by year, natural gas market prices continue to rise, increasing the production costs for enterprises. What’s more problematic is that during the winter heating season, businesses also face a chronic shortage of resources, with increasing pressure on their operations. To address the issue of natural gas-based chemical plants being unable to operate for extended periods and facing high costs, Zhongyuan Dahuahua carried out a project to optimize the feedstock route for fertilizer production. This is also one of the key strategic measures taken by the company to ensure long-term development, optimize its industrial structure, and promote transformation and upgrading. Sheng Zhaoquan, the chief engineer at Zhongyuan Dahua Company, explained in detail: \"Once the project is put into operation, it will enable us to break away from the reliance of natural gas chemical plants on a single gas supply source, thereby resolving once and for all the problem of plants having to shut down in winter due to insufficient gas supply.\" Furthermore, enterprises can flexibly switch between gas supply sources based on market prices, enabling autonomous and dynamic adjustment of the production load in facilities that use methanol, urea, ethylene glycol, etc. By flexibly adjusting the production volume of various products in this way, production costs can be effectively reduced, thereby significantly enhancing the company’s competitiveness in the market. ” It is understood that after the implementation of this project, the purity of liquid ammonia increased from 99.6% to 99.93%, meeting the standards for top-quality products and resulting in a significant improvement in quality. This also provides a strong guarantee for the stable and efficient operation of equipment such as those used for urea and melamine production. It is estimated that the annual operating days of fertilizer and melamine plants can increase by nearly 50 days, further improving the capacity utilization rate of these plants. Based on current market prices, the production cost per ton of urea can be reduced by nearly 200 yuan, which will also help companies gain a more advantageous position in the fierce market competition. The successful operation of the Central Plains Dahua Fertilizer Raw Material Optimization Project not only provides strong impetus for the development of the company itself, but also offers experience and insights for the entire industry in addressing raw material supply challenges and achieving transformation and upgrading.
