According to a report from Sinochem New Network, on February 6, the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology issued a circular to the industry and information technology bureaus of Hefei, Fuyang, Chuzhou, Tongling, and Xuancheng, as well as to the Anhui Chemical Industry Association, regarding the progress in ensuring the supply of fertilizers for 2025. The circular recognized the achievements made by these associations and fertilizer manufacturers in maintaining such supply, and it also forwarded a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology stated that ensuring a stable production and supply of fertilizers is of great significance for effectively supporting agricultural production, maintaining farmers’ enthusiasm for growing crops and engaging in farming, and safeguarding **food security**. Since 2025, the provincial chemical industry association has taken proactive actions, acting as a bridge and link to connect different parties and coordinate the resolution of issues related to the supply of raw materials. Six companies, including Zhongyan Anhui Hongsi Fang Fertilizer Co., Ltd., Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Anhui Jinmei Zhongneng Chemical Co., Ltd., Anhui Quansheng Chemical Co., Ltd., Anhui Liuguo Chemical Co., Ltd., and Anhui Sierte Fertilizer Co., Ltd., placed politics and the overall situation first, formulated reasonable production plans, made every effort to maintain and increase production levels, and exceeded the set targets for ensuring supply – making significant contributions to the province’s efforts to ensure a sufficient supply of fertilizers. The Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology hopes that all relevant parties will make further efforts, raise their political awareness, strengthen their sense of responsibility, keep in mind the importance of food security as a matter of national significance, overcome difficulties and challenges, ensure stable production, and earnestly carry out all tasks related to ensuring the supply of fertilizers, so as to fulfill the production targets set for 2026. According to Yang Qingyuan, president of the Anhui Chemical Industry Association, by 2025 Anhui Province had achieved remarkable results in ensuring the supply of fertilizers. The province successfully completed all the production targets set for this purpose, thereby meeting the fertilizer needs of agricultural production and maintaining market stability; it even received a special letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. As a member of the special task force for ensuring the supply and stabilizing prices of fertilizers in Anhui Province, the Provincial Chemical Industry Association has taken proactive actions and played an active role in facilitating the implementation of measures to ensure the supply of fertilizers across the province. Yang Qingyuan pointed out that ensuring the supply of fertilizers is crucial for overall food security. Since 2025, the association has closely followed the national and provincial plans aimed at ensuring fertilizer supply and stabilizing prices. By leveraging the advantages of its role as an industry organization, it has facilitated coordination between different levels, focused on key issues such as ensuring access to raw materials for fertilizer manufacturers, and worked actively to remove obstacles that could hinder production, thereby providing a solid foundation for fertilizer production across the province. With the coordination of the association, six key fertilizer manufacturers in the province, including Zhongyan Anhui Hong Sifang Fertilizer Industry and Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group, took on the responsibility of ensuring a stable supply of fertilizers. They formulated reasonable production plans and made every effort to maintain and increase production levels; all of them exceeded their production targets set for ensuring supply, thus becoming the core force behind fulfilling the province’s fertilizer supply goals. Together, they helped the province meet its annual supply objectives, ensuring an adequate supply of fertilizers for agricultural activities during critical periods such as spring plowing, the three summer planting seasons, and autumn and winter planting. Yang Qingyuan said that in the next step, the Anhui Chemical Industry Association will continue to uphold its commitment to providing services, play a role in coordinating the industry, and keep facilitating connections between the government and enterprises as well as cooperation among industry players. It will help companies overcome practical challenges in their operations, encourage enterprises in the province’s fertilizer industry to take on more responsibilities, ensure stable production and supply, and fully cooperate in carrying out all efforts needed to guarantee fertilizer supply by 2026, thereby contributing to food security through the efforts of Anhui’s chemical industry.
