At 17:18 on March 2, 2026, the gasification upgrade project of Tianyuan Company was completed and put into operation; the production system started up successfully on the first attempt, producing qualified urea. For the energy-saving, environmental-protection improvements and related renovations at Tianyuan Shanxi Chemical Co., Ltd., 12 DN3600 pure-oxygen continuous gasification units manufactured by Henan Changyu (11 in operation and 1 as backup) were installed, replacing the plant’s existing 28 DN2800 fixed-bed lump-coal atmospheric intermittent gasification furnaces as well as the 4 DN2800 pure-oxygen continuous gasification units built in 2021. A new air separation unit with an oxygen production capacity of 28,000 m3/h will be installed, while the unit with a capacity of 7,000 m3/h will be phased out. Compression, transformation, desulfurization, and decarburization are carried out through corresponding modifications. The existing gas intercooling, dimethyl and alcohol hydroformylation, ammonia synthesis, and urea production processes can all meet the process requirements, so no modifications are needed. The main product plan for the entire plant remains unchanged before and after the renovation. The annual production remains at 378,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 52,000 tons of methanol, 25,000 tons of formaldehyde, and 600,000 tons of large-grain urea.
