According to Sinopec Nanhua Company, in March 2026, the company’s daily hydrogen production amounted to 293.7 tons, while its daily production of concentrated nitric acid was 665.1 tons; this figure surpassed the previous record of 664.38 tons per day set in October 2025. In the first quarter, the production volumes of the four key products – hydrogen, liquid ammonia, dilute nitric acid, and concentrated nitric acid – reached 102.7%, 102.4%, 100.4%, and 101.9% of their respective quarterly targets. In February, coal consumption dropped from 8.069 tons per ton of hydrogen to below 8.03 tons per ton of hydrogen. In March, it further dropped to 7.99 tons per ton of hydrogen, achieving a historic breakthrough in key indicators. In the first quarter, the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of product decreased by 7.85%, while the cost per ton of product dropped by 15.37%. The hydrogen/synthetic ammonia production system of Nanhua Company uses GE coal-water slurry gasification to produce 280,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia and 90,000 tons per year of hydrogen. Nanhua Company’s 270,000-ton capacity of dilute nitric acid is produced using the double-pressure process developed by the French company GP, and it came online in December 2007. Concentrated nitric acid is produced using dilute nitric acid.

It is recommended to also share in detail what measures have been taken in terms of process optimization or equipment modification For example, is the improvement in gasification efficiency related to parameter adjustments of the GE coal-water slurry gasification system?
