On December 3, the Puyang plant held a launch meeting for this initiative, organized by the Electrical and Instrumentation Company; relevant leaders and technical staff from that company attended the meeting. At the meeting, the importance and necessity of increasing the automation level of various devices were discussed first, and it was conveyed that the park’s leadership attaches great importance to raising this automation level, as well as their firm determination to advance this effort as soon as possible. By presenting statistics on the degree of automatic control of various instrument systems during operation, the meeting highlighted that the level of automatic control of instruments in the production processes of the facilities within the park remains low at present. The advanced automation functions of the control systems have not been fully utilized, and there is significant room for improving the automation level of these facilities. It is necessary to gain a thorough understanding of the requirements for process control as well as the parameters of instruments and equipment, to develop effective automatic control solutions, and to genuinely enhance the automation level of facility operations. During the meeting, the leaders of the Electrical and Instrumentation Company had in-depth discussions with the persons in charge of the instrument control systems for various units present, analyzing the reasons why some control valves were not set to automatic mode based on the actual operating conditions of those control circuits, and offering solutions. The meeting identified the key tasks for the next steps: the relevant personnel must maintain thorough communication with the various process technicians, analyze the problems existing in each control circuit, and agree on solutions ； On the other hand, the instrument parameters should be carefully checked to identify and address any defects in the various instruments. The meeting identified increasing the automation level of 10 units in the synthesis plant, the hydrolysis unit in the urea plant, and the air separation unit in the methanol department as the pilot objectives for the initial phase, with further expansion to be carried out gradually based on the results of these pilots. The holding of this launch meeting marks a transitional stage in the effort to increase the automation level of the production facilities in the Puyang plant, moving from research to actual implementation; it represents an important step toward building a digital, intelligent, and automated factory.
