I would like to ask my friends: how should the reaction structures be written for the reaction of 3,4-dichloro*** with ammonia to produce 4-nitro-2-chloroaniline, and for the reaction of 2,5-dichloro*** with ammonia to produce 2-nitro-4-chloroaniline? I would like to thank all my friends here first.
Is it that easy to replace the chlorine on an amino-substituted aromatic ring? There must be some other reaction conditions as well, right? Especially for the second reaction, is the chlorine at the amino para position the result of a rearrangement?
Both reactions involve only a single aminoation step, which takes place under high temperature/pressure.
