Gansu Energy and Chemical Group to invest 60.7 billion yuan in tender for integrated project on clean and efficient utilization of coal in Qingyang

! Gansu Energy and Chemical Industry Group is inviting bids for a 60.7 billion yuan integrated project aimed at the clean and efficient utilization of coal in Qingyang. Recently, Gansu Energy and Chemical Investment Group launched a bidding process for the preparation of plans related to the Green Coal-Based Integrated Demonstration Project in Qingyang. The Qingyang Green Coal-based Integrated Demonstration Project is located in the Changqingqiao Chemical Industry Park, with a total investment of 60.7 billion yuan. Leveraging the coal resources of Gansu Energy and Chemical Group – namely 8 million tons per year from Jiulongchuan, 6 million tons per year from Zaosheng, and 6 million tons per year from Chunrong – as well as other high-quality coal resources in the Qingyang area, this project aims to develop industrial chains for coal-based olefins and coal-to-natural gas production. The project plays a positive catalytic role and holds great strategic significance in helping Gansu Energy and Chemical Group implement its industrial development strategy of “using coal as a foundation, integrating multiple forms of energy, extending and strengthening the industrial chain, and pursuing green development”, as well as its regional industrial layout of “consolidating the central region, expanding eastward and westward, and promoting coordinated development”. It also contributes to Qingyang’s efforts to establish a modern, multi-energy complementary industrial system comprising oil, natural gas, coal, wind, solar, thermal power, energy storage, and hydrogen; to developing a billion-yuan-level oil, natural gas, and coal chemical industry chain; and to ensuring and safeguarding energy security at both the ** level and across the entire province. On October 18, 2025, an expert review meeting for the \"Qingyang Clean and Efficient Coal Utilization Integrated Project Plan of Gansu Energy and Chemical Group\" was held in Qingyang.
Gansu Energy and Chemical Group has accelerated the implementation of major projects such as the development of coal resources at Jiulongchuan with an annual capacity of 8 million tons, at Zhaosheng in Qingyang with an annual capacity of 6 million tons, and at Chunrong also with an annual capacity of 6 million tons. Additionally, the 2x660MW coal-fired power integration project in Ning County is being carried out. These efforts have led to investments of 22.7 billion yuan in projects that have already commenced construction, 24 billion yuan in projects currently in the preliminary stages, and 23.5 billion yuan in projects that are being planned and reserved for future development. The project is located in Xinning Town and Zhaosheng Town of Ning County, Qingyang City, with a construction capacity of 8 million tons per year; a coal washing plant of the same capacity will also be built as part of this project. The total investment in the project amounts to 16.574 billion yuan. The area of the wellfield is 106.97 square kilometers, with resource reserves of 1.269 billion tons. The development method is vertical shaft development ； There are 5 coal seams that can be mined in the mine area; the main coal seams number 8, with thicknesses ranging from 1.32 to 17.4 meters, and an average thickness of 8.12 meters. It is a type of low-ash, low-to-medium-sulfur, medium-to-high volatile matter, high-heat-value non-caking and weakly caking coal. It can be used as thermal coal, coal for low-temperature carbonization, and coal for gasification. The resource conditions of the mine are relatively good. Once the project is fully operational, its annual total revenue is expected to reach 4.79 billion yuan, with annual tax and profit payments amounting to around 630 million yuan. It will significantly boost the development of numerous industries in Qingyang City, including finance and taxation, construction and building materials, commerce and services, catering, hospitality, food processing, transportation, and infrastructure. It will effectively promote local economic development, alleviate employment pressures, increase residents’ income, and improve their living standards. The project holds great significance for the development of the local economy, providing crucial energy support for the sustainable social and economic development of both Qingyang City and Gansu Province.
