Why must an overflow tube be equipped with a liquid-phase U-tube seal or a mechanical seal in closed, covered containers, or containers under slight negative pressure?
It is recommended to draw a simple diagram of your problem, indicating the pressure and liquid level height; by comparing atmospheric pressure with the pressure inside the container, you will be able to find the answer. You might as well give it a try.
The U-tube acts as a liquid seal, isolating the container from the outside world.
Under normal circumstances, ensure that the system does not come into contact with the outside world!
