I’m a beginner here; I hope everyone can help me. I understand why there’s a vent pipe on the reactor, but why is there also a vent pipe designed on the storage tank?
The question is too vague; it’s difficult to answer.
Empty the feed, introduce air to the output side, and maintain internal pressure balance
Isn’t the exhaust pipe meant for expelling exhaust gases?
But where does the gas come from? It doesn’t react to produce gas; could it be vaporization of a liquid?
When liquid enters the storage tank, the gas of the same volume inside the tank must be replaced; this is not necessary for floating roof tanks
Why not vent gases? Don’t temperature changes and the effects of material inflow and outflow all require air supply and exhaust? ?
Apart from the gases generated by the volatilization of materials, in atmospheric-pressure storage tanks, as the liquid level rises prior to filling, the available space for gases decreases. This compression of the gases leads to a rise in pressure. To maintain atmospheric pressure, it is necessary to vent these gases. When discharging, the volume of gas increases and the pressure decreases, with the gas entering at a constant pressure. Just like humans, it needs to breathe. One winter, due to freezing of the empty pipelines, we didn’t notice that we had collapsed all the storage tanks while pumping material into them.
