I was assigned to a project in which the process within the factory involved pressurizing low-pressure hydrogen to different pressures for transmission outside. However, the wall of the control room that faces the production area was fitted with a large piece of glass – the factory management did this to facilitate observation of what was going on inside the factory. The company could not provide information regarding the explosion resistance of that glass. I would like to know whether it is necessary to make changes to this wall. Additionally, how is the distance affected by the shock waves generated by a hydrogen tank explosion calculated?

You don’t have to go out just to observe; moving your seat around isn’t that difficult. Whose control room doesn’t have explosion-proof walls around the equipment? The windows aren’t even allowed to be opened, and they’re replaced with glass – are they trying to use explosion-proof glass walls? It’s completely reckless; they don’t seem to care about the workers’ lives at all.
It’s not possible to have them conduct an inspection at the moment; they want me to calculate the range of the shock waves resulting from an explosion in the hydrogen storage tank, and they’re not keen on making any changes
The leadership doesn’t quite understand this area, haha
It is recommended that the original poster ask the management of the property company whether they plan to install the cameras in the control room and use the glass walls to film the explosion scene!
