Regarding how to determine the shaft power for power calculation in the process package

Dear everyone: The specifications for the process design package of petrochemical plants state that the electrical power consumption should be indicated as “calculated shaft power”. However, to calculate the shaft power it is necessary to know the efficiency of the equipment; yet the equipment has not yet been purchased, and the efficiencies of similar devices vary significantly. How are you all handling this issue? I would appreciate your advice!
There is no need to calculate the shaft power of the pump; the motor power and shaft power can be determined by the engineering design team after taking into account the flow rate and head under different operating conditions, as well as other factors related to power selection during commissioning.
