Regulatory basis: GB51251-2017, “Technical Code for Building Smoke Prevention and Exhaust Systems”, clause 4.4.12. The location of the smoke exhaust outlets shall be determined through calculations in accordance with clause 4.6.3 of this standard; moreover, the horizontal distance between any point within a smoke prevention zone and the nearest smoke exhaust outlet should not exceed 30 meters. Except as specified in clause 4.4.13 of this standard, the installation of smoke exhaust outlets shall also comply with the following requirements: 1. Smoke exhaust outlets should be installed on the ceiling or on a wall adjacent to the ceiling. 2. Smoke exhaust outlets shall be located within the smoke storage compartment. Explanation of the clause: Clause 4.4.12 requires that the distance between the nearest edge of the smoke exhaust outlet and the ceiling should not exceed 0.5 m
