As the title suggests, I’m seeking help from experts~ I don’t understand the standards for American-standard gasketing. The SW-2.4 standard specified in ASME B16.20 for American-standard gaskets states that they all come with centering rings; so how should convex and concave flanges be used? There is also a way to indicate standard American gasket types – how can one tell whether it has an inner ring or a centering ring, or both?
ASME B16.20 wound gaskets are sealing gaskets used for flange connections, and the following points should be taken into consideration during installation: 1. Usage of the centering ring: The centering ring is a metal ring built into the gasket, and its function is to enhance the gasket’s strength and compressive resistance. During installation, it is necessary to place the centering ring on the inside of the male and female flanges, so that the gasket fits tightly against the centering ring. This effectively prevents the gasket from deforming or being extruded during use. 2. Usage method of raised and recessed face flanges: Wrapping gaskets are suitable for various raised and recessed face flanges, including flat flanges and flanged flanges. During installation, the gasket must completely cover the flange face, after which it should be tightened using the torque specified for the flange in order to achieve a seal. 3. Representation method: According to the ASME B16.20 standard, the center ring and the inner ring represent two different sealing configurations. If the gasket wrap has an inner ring, it is usually denoted as “IR” ; If it has a centering ring, it is usually denoted as “CIR”. For better differentiation, there are also some special notations; for example, “CGR” denotes one centering ring and one inner ring, while “CGT” denotes one centering ring and two inner rings, and so on. When selecting gaskets, it is necessary to determine the required sealing structure and specifications based on actual usage requirements and flange type. .
American standard gasketing can only be used with raised-face flanges (RF); it cannot be used with male-female or tongue-and-groove flanges.

Since those raised and recessed face flanges cannot use B16.20, are there any other gasket standards that can be used?
The Type B gasket for HG20610 can be used.
