In chemical plants, in addition to underground pipeline installations, there are also many pipelines above the ground. Some of these are installed on tall pipe racks, some use low-mounted systems, some are laid close to the ground, and some even rely on buildings or structures for support. What factors are taken into account when deciding on the type of installation to use?

Consulting experts in the general layout field, the arrangement of above-ground pipelines should be determined through comprehensive consideration of factors such as production safety, the properties of the materials used, production processes, ease of maintenance, transportation, and the overall appearance of the plant.
Pipelines involving fire hazards, corrosive, or toxic media (other than those in the building where they are used) shall not be supported by the building structure.
The choice of layout is primarily determined by the fact that most pipes in chemical plants are installed in pipe trays, while water-related pipes are generally laid directly underground. Pipelines involving fire hazards, corrosive substances, and toxic media must not be laid underground. The pipeline layout is primarily determined by the site layout; the various units are connected through pipe galleries or pipe piles, and access to the units or buildings relies on structural elements. Pipelines should be arranged on the top or bottom floor, on either side of the pipe rack or in the middle, depending on factors such as the medium and pipe diameter.
